I recently spent a couple days hiking through the Frio Canyon in the Texas Hill Country taking photos for the Laity Lodge Foundation. There is an quiet calm in this place that is unmistakable. I don’t think I’ll ever tire of seeing the sun brighten the shadows in the river or forget the smell of caliche and cypress on the descent into the canyon. After being truly struck by the photographs of Will Adler via his work in various zines and publications over the years, I visited and photographed his solo show last summer in NYC at the Danziger Gallery. Shortly thereafter I was in LA and met up with Will at his home and we ventured out to the beach. This mini day-in-the-life was documented and appeared in the most recent issue of Australian surf and travel magazine, Paper Sea Quarterly. Above: outtakes from the spring/summer 2015 lookbook I recently shot for Japanese bag and accessory experts Southern Field Industries. The collection is entirely made by hand by Manabu and Keiko Okada in their Saitama studio.

I had the privilege of photographing the new accessories collection for my old friends The Hill-Side. The all-new collection of wallets, fobs, socks and wool hats were thoughtfully produced using Japanese fabrics and assembled in the USA. View lookbook + more info here.
A few months ago I spent a sunny day-in-the-life with the Parton family in Los Angeles. The day took us through the westside of town for breakfast, a market visit, and a surf check at Topanga. In the afternoon we drove east to the downtown Arts District (with visits to their Apolis and Alchemy Works shops) and closed with a jaunt to the Fashion District to Jane Palmer’s Noon Dye Studio.

I recently had the pleasure of photographing the new NYC home of La Garçonne. The airy space and its custom build-out were designed by renowned architect Solveig Fernlund to perfectly complement the expertly curated collection of clothing and accessories. The precise details, light and flow of the space serve as a welcome wind of freshness in the industry. Highly recommended.
