Music for Year’s End 2015

YE15-COVER
In closing 2015, I coupled the fall and winter seasons into a single, hour-long, year-end playlist. Culled from my favorite releases from this past year, it’s intentionally devoid of vocals and lyrics to allow room for true listening, introspection, remembrance and dreaming. I trust that this finds you thankful and hopeful for your life and those lives around you. Happy holidays. I love you.

Lincoln City

One of the gnarliest slams I’ve ever taken on a skateboard was my first trip to the coastal Oregon concrete mecca of Lincoln City. I revisited the heralded spot a couple months later to capture the immense slopes.

I’m happy to share the first of three posts of outtakes from the first two published pieces I recently shot for Apiece Apart and their on-going Apiece Apart Woman series. We spent a few days traversing the tip of Long Island and all over the Hudson Valley meeting some amazing women doing remarkable things in the world. Four more features will be unrolled each Friday forthcoming.
Also, keep peeled to the AA Instagram account for other outtakes.

Music for Summer 2015

Proud to at long last reveal the 17th seasonal playlist. The Summer 2015 playlist is in special collaboration with Teranishi. Teppei and I met several years ago via the internet and then became real life friends with our many connections with music, skateboarding and design. Leigh and I also visited his studio a while back on Vashon Island for a piece on FvF. Hope you enjoy these new tracks specifically curated to score a perfect summer.

Last week I flew to Austin to meet my new and first nephew. From there I took a road trip to Santa Fe and back with my dear Mother. Above are some phone shots from the route of the wild clouds that persisted over the entirety of the trip.

Frio Canyon

I recently spent a couple days hiking through the Frio Canyon in the Texas Hill Country taking photos for the Laity Lodge Foundation. There is an quiet calm in this place that is unmistakable. I don’t think I’ll ever tire of seeing the sun brighten the shadows in the river or forget the smell of caliche and cypress on the descent into the canyon. View a photo essay with additional imagery on the foundation’s site.
